New research grant

I am delighted to report that I have received a grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the three-year, mixed-methods project “Violence against political actors at the grassroots level.” The focus will lie on individuals active in civil society organizations, political parties and party youth organizations in Germany, who have never competed in democratic elections. The project thus aims to complement existing studies that have investigated violence and aggression against elected officials or political candidates in the formal political sphere. Of primary interest will be targeting patterns and impacts of violence on political activity, complemented with an exploration of societal attitudes.

Official project start is to be determined, but I will be recruiting a doctoral researcher in due course. Stay tuned!
